What You’ll Learn

The program covers all essential stages of chewing gum production:

Day 1: Raw Materials & Processing Fundamentals

Product presentation with innovative and functional gum samples. Theory on gum bases (natural vs. synthetic), polyols, high-intensity sweeteners, actives, and flavors, including potential challenges with functional ingredients. Participants will also explore key process steps such as blending, mixing, and forming. Practical sessions include manufacturing sugar-free gums with both natural and synthetic bases, along with mixing and forming trials.

Day 2: Production Techniques & Process Control

Evaluation of the gums produced on Day 1, followed by extended practical work on optimizing processing conditions, texture, and flavor development. Participants will refine blending and forming techniques, test different formulations, and address troubleshooting scenarios. Theory and demonstration sessions introduce sugar-free coating with xylitol, including process parameters, equipment handling, and coating machine operation.

Day 3: Coating, Panning & Finishing

Dedicated focus on coating, panning, and polishing. Practical workshops include pre-treatment and precoating of centers, hard coating with xylitol, and final polishing for glossy, professional-quality gums. Participants will gain hands-on experience managing air supply treatment, drying, and after-treatment stages. The seminar concludes with evaluation of the finished products and a closing discussion.
